In 1984 Noel qualified as a Motor/Tractor and Diesel Mechanic and began working in the field for Mercedes-Benz for almost 4 years. In 1987 he completed a full course in Paramedics through the St. John’s Ambulance Service.
In 1985 he was employed by Gaffley’s Transport and in July 1993 Gaffley’s commissioned their first luxury coach. In September 1995 he qualified as a tourist guide for the Western Cape. Between 1997 and 2001 Noel attended part time classes at Peninsula Technikon where he successfully completed Business Management, Human Resources, Marketing and Customer Care Relationship Diplomas. In July 2003 the Gaffley Family successfully registered Gaffley’s Coach Tours.
From 2003-04 Noel was responsible for the Transport Portfolio of the South African Tourism Services Association (SATSA), while Gaffley’s co-ordinated the logistical aspect of conferences for THEBE CONFERENCES AND EVENTS. With 120 -12 000 delegates per conference, Gaffley’s prides itself on being able to provide a world class service to the South African tourism industry.
Noel is currently the managing director of Gaffley’s Coach Tours and a director of Gaffley’s Transport, which is a paid-up member of SATSA, Cape Town Tourism and a number of other tourism associations. In December 2000 Gaffley’s Transport purchased Fairest Cape Tours with all its assets. The name has remained dormant ever since, but the time has come to return it to its former glory.
